On her first ministry visit to Uganda, Louise Davis was so moved by the plight of those living in the slums of Kampala, that on her return to Australia she determined to partner with East African church communities to help facilitate community transformation. Hence, Living Gift Ministries was birthed in 2013.
Birthed with the understanding that the abundant life Christ offers is for the here and now, our desire is to partner with our African brothers and sisters to develop cross-cultural relationships and cultivate educational, financial and spiritual growth.
In partnership with churches of East Africa we working with the slum communities to:
>Establish schools, with a vision for vocational training.
>Sponsor tertiary education, and support refugee students.
>Build clinics and family dwellings.
>Build community housing for the abandoned elderly (Project Not-forgotten).
>Support small business development and horticulture.
>Provide pastoral care for pastors and their families.
>Facilitate leadership development.
All projects are locally owned and managed, with the goal of developing financial sustainability and resilience.
